Germaine Swanson has been in the food business for over 30 years. She is the creator of Germaine's Restaurant, one of Washington's most highly regarded restaurants and winner of the prestigious Nation's Restaurant News prized Hall of Fame Award, given annually to America's most important Chef. Her restaurant has been featured in the New York Times, The Washington Post, The Chicago Tribune, USA Today (who picked her as one of the top 10 women chefs in the United States), People, Playboy, Food and Wine, Gourmet, Cuisine, and Bon Appetit magazines. She has appeared on NBC and CBS as well as many appearances on local television.

Germaine introduced Washington, D.C. to the first Pan-Asian restaurant that includes cuisine from across Asia: Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai, Indonesian, Philippine, Japanese, Korean and others. She adapted these different cuisines for the American palate, yet remained faithful to the original cuisine.

Germaine brought to the restaurant business a national reputation and a sense of class and distinction rarely found in food service. Her menu, decor and service are models of fine, yet comfortable dining.
